Jake Cuenca admitted in a statement sent to “The Buzz” last Sunday that he and fellow actor Jason Abalos were involved in a heated argument Saturday night, November 20, in Davao.
He denied, however, that they got into a fistfight.
Jake made the admission to dispute circulating text messages about the supposed brawl involving him and Jason and to dismiss the speculations that the feud could be connected to actress Melissa Ricks who are both romantically linked to the two Kapamilya actors.
According to the statement read on-air by “The Buzz” host Boy Abunda, Jake and Jason began to raise their voices at each other while discussing about a touchy subject.
He clarified though that the argument never turned violent.
“I would like to clarify that no one was harmed. Wala pong nagsapakan. Nagkataasan lang kami ng boses dahil medyo emotional ang pinag-uusapan namin,” Jake said.
He added, “Everything is better now. Nagkaayos na po kami ni Jason as early as last night. We patched things up already and we talked again this morning.”
He also apologized to Jason for being “confrontational last night. And I acknowledged I was wrong and I am taking full responsibility.”
He also thanked fellow Kapamilya actor Coco Martin for convincing them to fix things up.
David Archuleta and Charice performed “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” at the said event. The song was an official single from David Archuleta‘s Christmas album last year titled Christmas from the Heart featuring Charice. The David-Charice collaboration peaked at no. 24 on Billboard’s Hot Adult/Contemporary Chart. And according to reports, the said track hit no. 1 in China.
Charice also sang “Jingle Bell Rock” and “My Grown Up Christmas List” while David also performed “Melodies of Christmas” and “The First Noel.”
David Archuleta and Charice are good friends since they met at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in 2008.
“I got a few offers to do Playboy actually. They want to pay [me] to be naked on the cover,” she said on “The Angie Martinez Show.” The “Umbrella” singer said she would not have a problem posing nude as long as the photos are done in a “classy way.” “If I’m gonna take my clothes off, it has to be in a classy way and my will, not a check. Sam Milby told Push.com.ph that there is really no one special in his life right now. The Rockoustic Heartthrob considered pursuing international singer Marie Digby, but they both decided that a long distance relationship wouldn’t work out for them. “We just decided to be friends. It was easy kasi never kaming umabot sa M.U. (mutual understanding) or exclusively dating na status. Mahirap kasi e. Wala akong regrets kasi kahit papa’no I made a good friend. We still keep in touch naman e.”
When asked if this is the best time for him and Sarah Geronimo to take their friendship to the next level, Sam believed that the Popstar Princess is too focused on her showbiz career to entertain any suitors right now. “Yeah, we used to be romantically linked to each other when we were doing Idol. I don’t know... I think she’s very concentrated sa career niya ngayon. I think everyone knows that. With Sarah, I really enjoy working with her. “It feels so good, it’s so nice to know… I’m just so very grateful that ABS-CBN still wants me to stay despite their large pool of such talented artists. It’s just so nice to know that despite that, they can still use din pala anIya,” Iya Villania revealed during her recent contract signing with ABS-CBN last November 18, just a week after she bid goodbye to fellow co-hosts on ASAP XV.
Iya’s previous contract with the TV network had expired and she supposedly had an offer to sign up with the rival network. “It was bit of a shock, medyounbelievable kasi I’ve been with the station for six years and I knew it would take a lot of getting used to, but I was open to trying to get new things,” recalled Iya when Push.com.ph asked her how she felt about the idea of leaving the Kapamilya network. “I always try to be optimistic [and] look at the brighter side of things.”
Iya went on to say that she and boyfriend Drew Arellano, who is with the rival network, got to talking about her possible network switch to the point of discussing possible projects together. “You know the thought of transferring and working on the same network? It got the both of us really excited. It’s been six years since we last worked together under the same network,” she shared.

Ilan sa prominenteng kasama niya sa MMFF Executive Committee ay sina Boots Anson-Roa, representing Mowelfund, and Grace Poe Llamanzares, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chairperson.
This is the first time na nagtipon-tipon ang mga entries na kasali sa festival ngayong taon. The program, emceed by Ms. Anson-Roa, started past 1:00 p.m.
Naka-attract ng attention sina Marian Rivera and John "Sweet" Lapus na dumating wearing their costumes. Suot ni Marian ang kanyang pink Super Inday superhero costume habang si John naman ay naka-white and gold costume. Ang Super Inday and the Golden Bibe ang isa sa mga film entry ng Regal Films. Regal big boss Roselle Monteverde was seated besides Marian and John.
Nasa table ng Father Jejemon (RVQ Productions) sina Zsa-Zsa Padilla, Nash Aguas and Ejay Falcon. Dolphy wasn't able to make it but Zsa-Zsa's presence more than made up for it. She will not be appearing in the movie but she acts as co-producer.
Alessandra de Rossi represented Star Cinema's Dalaw. Kasama niya sa table ang mga producers na si Roxy Liquigan and Mico del Rosario. The two main stars Kris Aquino and Diether Ocampo couldn't attend dahil may conflict of schedules.
Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo were side by side on the table of Rosario and they were happy to oblige everyone na gusto silang kuhanan ng litrato.
Sitting quietly in the entourage of Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote were the beautiful leading ladies of the film, Gwen Zamora and Sam Pinto, who wore a brown dress with black tassels, accessorized with gold bracelet and trinkets.
Zaijian Jaranilla was addressed as "Santino" by host Boots Anson-Roa and Chairman Tolentino instead of his real name. Zaijian is the lead voice actor for the film RPG Metanoia. Also with him was fellow child actor Mika Dela Cruz and director Luis Suarez.
Shake Rattle and Roll XII was represented by its different stars: Carla Abellana, Rayver Cruz, and Mart Escudero.
Meanwhile, Ang Tanging Ina Mo Rin (Last Na 'To) had Alwyn Uytingco and Xyriel Manabat in attendance.
Almost 3:00 p.m. nang matapos ang programa. Nagpaunlak naman ang mga star ng kaunti pang interview sa mga entertainment writers bago sila umalis papunta sa kanilang next functions.

Although may are speculating the end of his team-up with Kim Chiu, Gerald still emphasizes that he and Kim remain very good friends and won’t be totally forgetting her even though they might have separate projects.
Sarah, who’s busy preparing for her concert with Martin Nievera, says she has heard of talks about a new movie deal but isn’t very sure of the details. “Yung movie, kung ma-conceptualize nang maayos and maganda naman ‘yun istorya, sana mag-push through.” Although she has qualms about who’s she’s going to be partnered with, she hopes that everything will go smoothly. “Siyempre nakakatakot, after everything na naririnig ko, pero pinagdadasal ko na lang na mangyari ang mga dapat mangyari according to His (the Lord’s) plan, according to His will.
“It’s always a chance for us to grow as artists to be paired with someone else and I’m sure gusto rin ni Kim. Gusto rin ng bawat artista na may growth ang ginagawa nila every time. I’m privileged if ever makatrabaho ko siya but for now wala pa naman,” explained Enchong, whose perennial leading lady is Erich Gonzales while Kim’s long-time leading man is Gerald Anderson.
“Kasi sa trabaho namin umiikot naman ang bawat artista and magu-grow naman [kami] hindi naman nananatili sa isang kaparehas,” said Kim. When further prodded if it is okay with her that Enchong will be her new leading man, Kim replied, “Why not? Siyempre ‘pag maganda ‘yung [project] and kung [okay] sa management, open naman kami, eh.”
Though their respective team-ups have huge followings, Kim and Enchong were asked if they are worried about their fans’ reaction if they become onscreen partners and leave their more popular tandems behind. “Hindi ko po alam pero lagi naman silang andyan para suportahan kami,” said Kim.
“Okay naman tsaka ever since we started sinabi naman namin sa kanila whatever they see between us—me and Erich—trabaho ‘yon tsaka ‘yung behind-the-camera, sa amin na lang ‘yun. And simula pa lang, sinusuportahan na nila ang ganung idea kaya hindi mahirap para sa amin,” said Enchong.
John Lloyd told reporters about the PNoy-Liz affair, “Personal na buhay na nila ‘yan.” The actor figured that it’s best not to make any comments about his girlfriend’s personal life as a sign of respect. “Nung nakaraang interview ko, nasabi ko na I realized that I should not talk about her anymore. Hindi naman kasi tayo sigurado if she will appreciate the idea na magsasalita pa ako, sasagot ng mga tanong tungkol sa personal niyang buhay. Mas okay nang hindi ako mag comment about it.” John Lloyd also said that he and Liz are no longer communicating.
While Liz is with PNoy, John Lloyd is very much happy with girlfriend Shaina Magdayao. The Box Office King again dismissed speculations that his relationship with Shaina is on the rocks. “Masaya kami, walang problema. Salungat sa mga nababalita. Lagi kaming binabato ng kung ano anong akusasyon at intriga. Laging nahuhusgahan ‘yung relasyon namin. Siguro it’s now time to tell everyone, especially those na totoong nagpapakita ng concern sa amin, na wala kaming problema. We’re very much together and we’re very much happy.”
Regarding the persistent rumor that John Lloyd’s longtime ka-love team Bea Alonzo is now the new girl of Gerald Anderson, John Lloyd said that he has never been privy to Bea’s love life in the eight years that they have worked together. “Magkasama kami ni Bea sa Japan. Nagkakausap kami about personal stuff, things in general. Hindi ko intensyon na bigyan siya ng advice. We don’t talk about mga personal affairs niya. Hindi kami ganun. Matagal kaming nagsama sa TV at pelikula pero hindi kami ‘yung nag sit down and talk about the relationship na meron siya. Wala kaming ganun.”
